Meet Jan
My name is Jan Tyler, a retired educator running for Arlington ISD Trustee Place 6 to represent the students, teachers, parents, and taxpayers drawing on my 48 years of dedicated service in public education.
Arlington has been my home for 45 years, and I cherish our city and its people.
I am eager to collaborate with our new Superintendent, Dr. Smith, and the Board to make Arlington’s neighborhood schools the preferred choice for parents, delivering the highest quality education in a secure and disciplined environment.
My commitment to nurturing young minds includes 33 years teaching elementary students in Arlington ISD, five years instructing second grade in the Berkley Integrated School District in Missouri, and eight years as an At-Risk Coordinator at UME Preparatory Academy Dallas Charter School. Additionally, I taught Religious Education for 27 years at Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and served as a Sorority Chapter Advisor and House Corporation President at the University of Texas at Arlington for 14 years.
My extensive public school experience, combined with my Christian principles and a practical, common-sense approach to building relationships, equips me to serve effectively on the School Board.
Local elections are set for May 2026—please consider voting for me, Jan Tyler, to help make our neighborhood schools the optimal setting for your child’s education, grounded in timeless values and parental priorities.
I ask for your prayers, your support, and your vote in the May 2026 election for Arlington ISD Trustee, Place 6.
